Wanted: London based Linux sys admin

One of my clients - a company developing and supporting a mobile gaming platform - is looking to hire a Linux systems administrator. Details after the jump. Note that it’s based in central London, and is a full-time role, to join a small but growing company that’s recently AIM listed.

Systems Administrator

Job Specification

  • To maintain and support server infrastructure keeping our excellent record for uptime.
  • Will provide System Administration for a large scale enterprise system.
  • Will be responsible for backups, recovery, administer storage, and Providing Security Intrusion/Detection protection.
  • Strong focus on Security Intrusion and Detection.
  • Manage local and remote disk devices in a Linux operating environment
  • Perform package and patch administration
  • Perform user administration in a Un*x operating environment Administer Storage
  • Change/release management
  • Command of source control principles

    Essential Skills

  • Linux OS administration (minimum 4 years)

  • MySQL Database admin.
  • Linux shell Scripting
  • Experience of working with multi tier websites

    Desirable

  • Java, PHP
